Vampire treatment for hair loss or thinking is involves using Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) which  is a non-surgical way to enhance hair growth using your own body’s powerful platelet-derived growth factors.

Research is continuing to progress regarding the use of PRP’s ability to stimulate stem cells, improve wound healing, and rejuvenate skin and hair follicles.

PRP promotes hair growth from follicles by the action of platelet growth factors on hair follicle stem cells. The platelet growth factors induce follicle stem cells to shift from a dormant state to an active state that starts the process of hair production and increase blood circulation to the hair follicle which help stimulate stronger thicker hair shaft.

This treatment is based on collecting your own blood (about 10-30ml), centrifuge it and then concentrate it using specialised methods in order to extract platelet rich plasma “PRP” which is then injected using a very short needle and reintroduced into the skin of the scalp area (under topical anaesthetic).

The treatment is easy to apply with no risk of allergy or transmissible disease infection e.g HIV, Hepatitis B & C infections as we are using your own blood.

Initially, two treatments spaced out by 3 months are recommended for rapid regrowth. For some patients, maintenance treatment may become necessary every year or so.
